I am not a fan of boat tail design cars. I like the fenders though. Maybe a rumble seat look but make it the engine access door?

Wait, what I like does not matter. It is a very elegant design and the fenders do make the shape look really good.

Thank you both for the feedback.

And yeah, the issue is the rear wheels need to move back from the seating area which leaves a lot of bad options appearance wise. Keep the long nose or even make it longer to maintain proportions? Then wheelbase.....how long to go in the interest of looks, for performance the front wheels want to follow the rears wheels back, keep them forward and they have very little weight on them. Wheels/tires, I sketched what would be 27" OD tires thinking 20x12 rear, 20x8 front thinking that is about right width balance give the expected rear weight bias.....300hp doesn't need 12s but....looks. I hadn't really thought a ton about the wheel style.....yeah spokes are likely the "right" choice for a 30s look but my heart is saying something very much like the " spoked" audi wheels below would look good if maybe not correct.

A buddy pointed out the rear fenders in particular are an issue....they endup above the body which is maybe an odd look and more something you see in the ratrod genre where everything is slammed. I'm pondering back tracking on the cool modern engine mods and just putting the blower on top and carbs on top of that so the rear deck needs a big hump at the least to cover it and that will get the body profile taller than the fender. and give a good way to pull air in to cool everything a bit...but then 300hp is maybe a stretch goal unless I can find E85.

Then another excellent question was posed...what the heck is it supposed to be?....I was kind of hoping I'd know it when I saw it but hope is not a plan :p I want to play a bit with pointing the project in this direction as inspiration

My thought is that design has come nearly full circle...big wheels in the corners, fenders mostly separate from the body, teardrop shapes......I'm trying and so far failing to wrap my head around what a 30s version of this type car looks like

I was supposed to be thinking about fenders but got distracted...nothing says "I'm a dumb-ass" quite like and 8-71 blower sticking out the hood

The aluminum main body with carbon fiber front fenders and wooden rear fenders really looks cool. I like it.

and rear. Sitting here with a drink poured (ok it was a straight to the rocks moment) I'm thinking the corves in front cut away the place the upper a-arm should mount....I'll need to fix that in rev3

Looking good. Your going to either have to learn to use an english wheel or get a bigger 3D printer.
