I cut a bit hole in the oil tank and it fits better now.

Are you going to aerate it with the rear bank exhaust?

While I was grabbing the oil filters I picked up a new battery to help with measuring up what I need for a battery cable. The old alternator lead bolted to the old batter lead is just about perfect.....which of course led to "I wonder if it cranks over?

Oh yes it does :)

That in itself is a milestone - nice that things didn't crash together. Now to get some spark into it!

Well done.

Yes it made me pretty happy.

I forget all the exact numbers but its got a 10'? F360 flywheel ring gear on a custom flywheel replacing the 12.5"? 400i flywheel. Then an aftermarket gear reduction starter from a chevy adapter on. SO just that that all worked right was good, the no parts crashing in the engine was gravy :)

The day I see it hold oil and water and keep them separate I'll be even happier.

I'm going to go pop the ECU open right now and see if I can get it up to 12 spark outputs....I may need to order some 0 ohm resistors, I don't think I have any.

Woohoo!

...speaking of keeping oil and water separate, did you do a compression check?

I didn't....I thought about it briefly but decided I wasn't very worried about compression and really wanted to get the wire ordered and the oil filter mounted so I moved on. I did see all the paper plugs I stuffed into the plug holes popping up then sucking back down (because the paper stuffed in the intake ports wasn't letting enough air past) so I know it's at least about right :)

I'll do an actual compression test when I start running though systems checks in a few week.

I made the changes to the board easily enough so it should have 12 spark outputs now..... but I'm have trouble loading the model into the ECU properly....I'm not going to waste any more vacation day in the shop on it but maybe tonight or tomorrow I'll make a simple model that just turns on spark and test it that way.

Not done but getting close.

I added a 3" section which is about another 3.5 quarts...they call it a 7.5 quart tank but I lost about 1 quart fitting around the frame and the top is really an air separator so you can only fill it 2/3 up....now it should be 6-7 usable quarts.

Now I need to actually mount it.
