In a way, I am starting to get a little sad. Once you turn the fast approaching big corner on this project, how are you going to keep us entertained?

I know the heads are good now and I also know it pumps air properly......so I should be able to start it and see what if anything is still wrong.

OK, I must have missed where you pressure tested the heads. I knew you leaked 'em down to check the valve seating/sealing, but I didn't know you'd pressure tested the coolant passages. Carry on!!!

I
YES! I pressure tested the heads after everything was welded and seat and guides were back in. They don't leak....or at least they didn't before i installed them.

Remember is needs paint, custom seats and wheels....it'll never be finished finished. Also there is the flathead V12 boat project waiting to kick off.

Today I got the exhaust and oil systems installed. There is oil pressure and the return pump is working too.

I did a compression test and 11 cylinders are in the 140-150 range but cylinder 8 is 125. not sure what to make of that, it was middle of the pack on leak-down.....I squirted a little oil in and nothign changed so I'm thinking a little dirt on a valve. It's plenty good enough to start and run so I'll proceed and check it again if I get the thing running and see if it's improved.....

Left are the alternator, coils, plug in the wiring, load the latest version of the ecu model, fuel lines, and the dreaded filling of the coolant which I will do last....so 1/2 day meaning it may be ready to try after lunch unless something gives me more trouble than I expect.

It won't be today :(

The ECU is not supplying fuel or spark so I need to figure out why. I made quite a few changes to the code that could effect the rev limiting function so I'll start looking there.....its calculating the fuel and spark right its just not getting out to the engine.

I chose not to pour in any coolant figuring better to wait until the engine shows signs of making fire and might actually need coolant :)

I'll sort it out tomorrow.
